Summer Tour 2026 Day 33

We woke up to a cool, overcast day this morning. Sandy wanted us to go to a place called Leipers Fork, Tennessee. Ted took us the scenic route through some of the prettiest places in Tennessee. Leicester Fork is a tiny little artisan town with a few antique shops and a few stores that sell handmade creations and art.

We grabbed lunch at a place called Fox and Lockes. I had a giant bologna sandwich. There was a band that started playing shortly after we arrived. A bunch of older musicians. They were outstanding. The saxophone player was the guy who played in the Saturday Night Live band for 30 plus years. The keyboard player used to tour with a number of old country stars, including Tammy Wynette. Very cool to see.

We checked out all of the shops and then drove to Columbia to find a dive bar. I spotted a place called the Rebel. It was very "divey". We grabbed a beer and saw a sign that said Def Leperachan was playing that night. Ted said he's seen them in Nashville a bunch of times and loved their show. So we reserved four seats for later.

We went to Columbia's main street district and checked out a few stores and went to place called American Barrel. The ladies had martinis and Ted and I ordered blackberry mojitos. They were of the chain GOOD! Then we ordered a drink called Golden Hour. It was off the chain AWFUL! Never order a drink that rhymes with Golden Shower.

We returned to the Rebel and ate corned beef and cabbage and listened to the band for a couple of hours. They were ok.

We were heading back Chapmansboro and Ted told the radio to play "music by Anthony Manfredi ". I didn't think anything would come up because all of my music is under Tony not Anthony. The radio started playing "Last Dance with Maryjane". Only it was me singing it! I was like WTF?? Turns out about 17 years ago me and my band recorded a demo cd that I had totally forgotten about. Well Ted had a copy and uploaded it to his Playlist. It had three covers and two originals on it. "Florida Sunshine" and "Three Sheets to the Wind". And it was a great recording. I never ever expected to hear that on our ride home.

We just got home and heading to bed. We have a long drive back to Ohio tomorrow. Again, Ted and Sandy made us feel more than welcome and we're really gonna miss them.
